The Human Rights Organization Afrin-Syria reported that Turkish occupation forces seized a building under construction owned by citizen Zeinab Mohamed Ahmed (60 years old) from the village of Matina "Al-Duha" near Sharan in the occupied countryside of Afrin about a month ago. They aim to convert it into a military barracks for their forces stationed at the Matina village junction, adjacent to the water company building on the Kafar Jannah - Bulbul highway.

Details reveal that citizen Zeinab Mohamed had purchased a 3000 square meter plot (equivalent to 3 dunams) of property number 270 in the Matina area, which belonged to citizen Ahmed Abdou as per documented proof, in order to establish a cold storage project for fruits and vegetables. She began land leveling and construction before 2011, prior to the crisis. A basement, ground floor with several shops, and first floor with rooms for project necessities were built, totaling approximately 850 square meters. However, Zeinab was unable to complete her project after the Syrian crisis began in 2011.

Following the occupation of the Afrin region on March 18, 2018, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries stole construction materials such as cement and iron, and turned the project into a celebration hall. About a month ago, Turkish occupation forces seized the building and are currently making alterations to convert it into a military barracks for their forces in the area. Construction work on the building permit is ongoing, according to the Human Rights Organization Afrin-Syria.
