Turkish occupation launched 18,240 attacks despite HPG ceasefire

Despite the announcement by the Central Command of the People's Defense Center of a ceasefire on March 1, 2025, and the official announcement by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) of the dissolution of its organizational structure and the end of its armed struggle in favor of political struggle, based on the historic call made by Leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 27, the Turkish occupation state continues its air and ground attacks on the Mediya Defense Zones.

Between March 1 and 3: The areas were subjected to 1,072 intense attacks using heavy weapons and artillery.

Between March 4 and 6: The Turkish occupation army bombed the Mediya Defense Zones 811 times, using heavy weapons and artillery shells.

Between March 11 and 12: The Turkish occupation army targeted the Mediya Defense Zones 715 times, including 14 airstrikes by warplanes, 9 attacks by attack helicopters, and 692 shelling with heavy weapons and artillery.

Between March 15 and 17: The Mediya Defense Zones were subjected to 521 heavy bombardments by warplanes and heavy weapons.

Between March 20 and 23: This period witnessed an unprecedented escalation, with the Defense Zones being bombed 1,736 times by air and ground.

Between March 23 and 25: The Mediya Defense Zones were subjected to 937 attacks, including air and ground bombardments and prohibited explosives.

On June 16, the occupation forces carried out 48 airstrikes on border villages in Duhok Governorate in Southern Kurdistan. The total number of attacks between March 1 and June 19 reached 18,240, including airstrikes, ground attacks, and internationally banned weapons.
