Turkish authorities ban leader Ocalan's legal visits for another 6 months

The Turkish authorities have issued a new decision to prohibit leader Abdullah Ocalan from meeting his lawyers for another six months. In response, the lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office will file a petition with the Constitutional Court against this decision.

According to the Mezopotamya Agency, the Turkish authorities have issued a ban preventing leader Abdullah Ocalan and the three other detainees in Imrali, Omer Khairy Kunar, Veysi Aktaş, and Hamili Yildirim, from meeting their lawyers for another six months.

The lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office, who submitted a request to the Second Enforcement Court in Bursa to meet with leader Abdullah Ocalan, stated that a new six-month ban on lawyer-client meetings was issued on November 6, and the lawyers were not informed of the reasons for this decision.

The Bursa High Criminal Court rejected appeals against the ban, and the lawyers will submit a petition to the Constitutional Court (AYM) to challenge the decision.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been imprisoned for over 24 years in Imrali Island Prison in the Sea of Marmara following an international conspiracy carried out by international and regional forces.
