Truck driver killed between Daraa - Sweida

A truck driver was killed at the Kharba junction between Daraa and Sweida, after two civilian buses were previously targeted by gunfire.

The driver of a truck loaded with food supplies was killed on Sunday after being shot at the Kharba junction on the administrative border between Daraa and Sweida. Local sources reported that the victim was from Damascus.

This incident comes hours after two civilian buses carrying passengers from Sweida to Jaramana were targeted. Transitional Government forces opened fire on them as they passed through the Daraa countryside, wounding several people, including children and women, some of whom were in critical condition.

Transitional Government forces also intercepted a minibus traveling from Sahnaya to Sweida on the Busra al-Sham-Kahil road in the eastern Daraa countryside, kidnapping eight people, including six women.

These successive attacks reflect the scale of the risks facing civilians in the border areas between Daraa and Sweida, amid increasing armed attacks against passersby and civilian convoys. This exacerbates the fragility of the security and humanitarian situation in the region.
