Trial water pumping from Alouk resumes following repair of main transmission line

Trial pumping of water from the Alouk station to Hasaka has resumed following the repair of a rupture in the main transmission line in the Al-Tuwainah area, paving the way for the resumption of water supplies once the integrity of the network is verified.

The General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Hasaka Governorate announced today the resumption of trial water pumping operations following the repair of a rupture in the main 1,200mm transmission line in the Al-Tuwainah area.

The company explained that the trial pumping aims to verify the integrity of the line post-maintenance and to detect any potential faults or leaks within the water distribution networks serving the city of Hasaka, the town of Tal Tamr, and surrounding communities, in preparation for addressing them and ensuring stable water service.

The cities of Hasaka and Tal Tamr, along with several surrounding villages and communities, had experienced an interruption in the Alouk water supply—which occurred during a previous trial pumping phase—after the main transmission line suffered a rupture, necessitating maintenance and repair work by the General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation.
