Kongra Star in Kobani condemns incitement against Kurdish people

In a statement issued today in the city of Kobani, Kongra Star condemned attempts by certain parties to tarnish the image of Kurdish women and sow discord among the components of the Syrian people, affirming its rejection of any rhetoric that fuels division.

The statement—read by Nadia Hasso, a member of the Kongra Star coordination—was delivered in the presence of dozens of women, including members of women's organizations and representatives from political and social spheres, at the Free Women's Square in Kobani.

In its statement, the conference affirmed its rejection of attempts to sow discord among Syrians, noting that incitement among the various segments of the population threatens social peace. It highlighted the role of the mercenary Rami al-Dahish—who had previously cut off the braid of a Kurdish female fighter during attacks on Raqqa by factions affiliated with the Interim Government last January—in inciting hatred against the Kurdish people, viewing this as an indicator of the dangers facing Syrian women and the country's diverse communities.

The statement called for holding accountable anyone who incites hatred or seeks to fuel divisions, noting that these developments are occurring amidst an integration process intended to guarantee the rights of all communities. The conference also accused Rami al-Dahish of inciting hatred against the Kurdish people through widely circulated videos, warning that the continuation of such actions—against the backdrop of the Interim Government's silence—could jeopardize the integration process.

Concluding the statement, Kongra Star reiterated its demand for accountability regarding incitement to hatred, calling on the Interim Government to shoulder its responsibilities and take action against those threatening the region's security and stability.
