Thousands chanted slogans, "No Life Without Leader"

On October 9, 1998, Leader Abdullah Ocalan left Syria, marking a decisive turning point in the course of the Kurdish cause. This date represented the beginning of a complex international conspiracy, intertwining the interests of regional and global powers, which culminated in his arrest on February 15, 1999. Since then, this event has become a symbol of political injustice and a catalyst for widespread popular movement, as mass demonstrations took place in North and East Syria denouncing the conspiracy and demanding the leader's physical freedom.

Tel Hamis

In Tel Hamis city, hundreds of residents took part in a massive demonstration that began in front of the city council, with broad participation from representatives of civil society organizations, local councils, Tel Hamis Youth, the Kongra Star, as well as tribal leaders and sheikhs and various segments of society. The participants carried pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and raised banners with slogans demanding his freedom and condemning continued isolation imposed on him in Imrali Prison; "We Condemn The International Conspiracy And Demand The Physical Freedom of Leader Apo."

The demonstrators chanted slogans expressing their adherence to the leader's ideology and philosophy, which has become an approach to a democratic solution in the Middle East. Crowds went through the main streets leading to Tel Hamis Roundabout, where participants held a minute of silence. This was followed by a speech delivered by Sheikh Suleiman al-Ali, on behalf of the Islamic Democratic Conference, in which he said, "Today we renew our pledge of loyalty to Leader Abdullah Ocalan and denounce the international conspiracy that targeted the democratic nation project. The leader's freedom is the key to resolving all the crises facing the region."

Sheikh al-Ali affirmed the people's continued resistance until the leader's physical freedom is achieved, calling on the international community and human rights organizations to break the silence regarding the ongoing violations against him and demanding his immediate release. He also urged the people of North and East Syria not to be drawn into the seditions being plotted to undermine stability, stressing that the current phase requires solidarity and steadfastness in the face of all conspiracies targeting the unity of the people.

For her part, Ibtisam al-Ali, the administrator of the Popular Initiative in Jazira canton, saluted Leader Abdullah Ocalan, emphasizing that the conspiracy that began with the Adana Treaty was an imperialist attempt to curb the project of the democratic nation. She said, "The thought of the leader, who challenges dictatorial nationalist regimes, has become a threat to those countries, so they imprisoned him within four walls, unaware that the walls of Imrali cannot imprison a free thought that penetrates the hearts of oppressed peoples. The leader transformed the prison into a source of knowledge and learning, and his ideas reached all over the world, becoming a support for all who seek a bright life."

Derik

At al-Hurriya (Freedom) Square in Derik city, hundreds of residents of the city and its countryside, along with representatives of service institutions, gathered, carrying pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners with, "We Condemn The Conspiracy And Demand The Physical Freedom Of Leader Apo" written on.  This mass gathering came to participate in the demonstration denouncing the international conspiracy that targeted the leader and his democratic project.

The march set off towards al-Shahid (Martyr) Hoger Center for Syrian Revolutionary Youth, amidst resounding chants denouncing the conspiracy and affirming adherence to the leader's ideology, "No Life Without The Leader," "We Denounce The International Conspiracy," and "Resistance Is Life."

Upon the crowd's arrival at al-Shahid Bawer Center, the participants stood a minute of silence, followed by a speech delivered by the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Gharib Hesso, who emphasized that the international conspiracy against Leader Abdullah Ocalan was a direct targeting of the peace project and the democratic nation by dominant forces seeking to fuel wars and sow crises among the peoples of the Middle East and the world.

Hesso added that thousands of people have advocated the leader's approach and embraced his ideology, which calls for freedom, peace, brotherhood of peoples, and co-existence, making it a path to victory and liberation. He pointed out that Leader Ocalan's ideology has become a school from which people learn in universities and academies, because it offers radical solutions for those suffering from slavery, extremism, crises, and capitalism.

Hesso emphasized that Leader Abdullah Ocalan possesses the ability to save the peoples of the Middle East and the world, and that his historic call for peace is the true path to salvation from the current crises. Concluding his speech, he emphasized the need to escalate the struggle until the leader's physical freedom is achieved, reiterating his condemnation of the international conspiracy that continues in various forms.

Amuda

Amuda city witnessed a massive public demonstration, attended by thousands of residents, along with representatives of civil society organizations, the Military Council, the Democratic Autonomous Administration, political parties, students, and forcibly displaced people from Afrin and al-Shahba cantons. The demonstration came in rejection of the international conspiracy targeting Leader Abdullah Ocalan and to renew the demand for his physical freedom.

The march set off from Free Women's Square towards the Martyr Jihad Square in the city center, where the participants held pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners of, "We Condemn The Conspiracy And Demand The Physical Freedom of Leader Apo." In addition, slogans expressing their adherence to the leader's ideology were chanted, such as "No Life Without The Leader" and "Freedom For Leader Ocalan."

Upon the crowd's arrival at the Martyr Jihad Square, the participants held a minute of silence. Then, a speech by Shaha Khalil, the administrator of the Kongra Star in Jazira canton, was delivered, as she emphasized that the conspiracy was an attempt to separate the leader from his people and target his philosophy, which represents a liberation project for the people. She said, "The leader's philosophy is deeply rooted in our minds, and we will make this day a turning point to foil this conspiracy. We will continue our resistance for the sake of his project of peace and a democratic society for all the peoples of the Middle East."

For his part, the co-chair of the Executive Council in Jazira canton, Hassen Sherro, confirmed that the conspiracy was directed against the people and the strength represented by the martyrs. He said, "We will not accept surrender. The North and East Syria Region has become a model of democracy and peoples' fraternity, thanks to the philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

Girkê Legê

Thousands of residents of the cities of Girê Legê, Jel Agha, and Tel Kocer flocked to the Martyr Khabat Square in Girê Legê in Jazira canton to participate in a mass demonstration denouncing the international conspiracy targeting the Leader Abdullah Ocalan and renewing their demand for his physical freedom.

The march began from the Martyr Khabat Square and passed through the city's main streets. The participants raised the Syrian Democratic Forces' flags and pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, along with banners of "We Condemn The Conspiracy And Demand The Physical Freedom of Leader Apo."

When the march reached the entrance to Rmeylan, it transformed into a protest vigil that began with a minute of silence, followed by a speech given by Mohamed Abdul Rahim, the administrator in the Democratic Union Party (PYD), as he said, "The conspiracy aimed to undermine the peoples' will and the democratic nation's project, but it failed before the strugglers' determination, who were inspired by the leader's thought and the spirit of resistance and solidarity. Our demand today is not just a slogan; it is a pledge to continue the struggle until the leader's full physical freedom is achieved."

For her part, Jawaher Othman, the administrator of the Kongra Star for North and East Syria emphasized that the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan represents the freedom of the Kurdish people and all the peoples of the region who believe in the principles of justice and equality. She added, "The masses who came out today confirm to the world that the leader's thought has become an approach that cannot be isolated or silenced in prisons. All attempts of isolation and oppression have failed because his thought has become a beacon illuminating the path of resistance against tyranny and occupation, and our march today is an extension of that historic struggle."

Qamishlo

Thousands of people from Qamishlo and its various communities gathered in front of Soni Roundabout in the city center, in a massive demonstration, carrying pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, flags of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Women's Protection Units, in addition to symbols of the July 19th Revolution.

The demonstrators chanted slogans expressing loyalty and steadfastness, such as "We Will Sacrifice Our Souls and Blood for you, Ocalan," "Long Live Imrali Resistance," "Long Live Sheikh Maqsoud Resistance," and "Resistance Is Life," in a scene that embodied the unity of the popular will in the face of isolation and conspiracy.

The demonstration proceeded from the central market to the Martyr Robar Roundabout, where participants held a minute of silence, which was followed by singing the anthem "Ay Raqib."

The co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Perwin Youssef, gave a speech and affirmed that the international conspiracy targeting Leader Abdullah Ocalan involved countries that oppose the rights of the Kurdish people, along with the Turkish state. She said, "The leader's steadfastness in Imrali transformed the prison into a wellspring of democratic civilization, and his ideas, which shattered the walls of isolation, are now being lived in Rojava and have spread all over the world, carrying a message of freedom, democracy, and peace."

Perwin called on the guarantor states to put pressure on the Turkish state to fulfill its commitments and guarantee the rights of the Kurdish people in the Turkish constitution. She also addressed the ongoing negotiations between the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces on the one hand, and the transitional government on the other, stressing that the latter is not serious in its efforts and that the struggle will continue until the rights of the Kurdish people are constitutionally recognized.

Perwin Youssef added, "We will not accept being second- or third-class citizens. We want to live as free citizens in Syria with all its mosaics, and protect this land that should embrace us all."

For his part, Kenan Barakat, the member of the Popular Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, said that the international conspiracy hatched 27 years ago continues as long as the leader is in Imrali Prison. He added, "Easing the isolation is not enough. There is a clear popular demand which is the absolute physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The voice of millions must be heeded."

Barakat pointed out that the Turkish state is continuing its policies of denial and insisting on pursuing a path of war, despite the leader's repeated calls to resolve the Kurdish issue through dialogue and peace.

Tirbê Spîyê

In a scene that embodied the unity of the popular will, a massive demonstration took place in Tirbê Spîyê city, attended by members of the Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac communities, denouncing the international conspiracy against Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The demonstration began in front of the Educational Complex east of the city and proceeded to the central market, as the participants carried pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and a banner with "We Condemn The International Conspiracy And Demand The Physical Freedom Of Leader Apo" written on. Furthermore, slogans were chanted expressing loyalty to the leader's ideology and his resistance in the face of isolation.

The demonstrators stopped in front of the city council, where Hemrin Ali, the administrator of the Kongra Star, delivered a speech in which she emphasized that the gathering of Kurds, Arabs, and Syriacs on this occasion expresses a unified popular demand. She said, "The physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan has become a popular demand, after he established the concepts of democracy and co-existence. The conspiracy targeted the unity of peoples yearning for freedom, especially women who believed in the leader's liberating ideology and became an example of free and struggling women worldwide."

For his part, Walid Afrin, the member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, delivered a speech in which he said, "Targeting the leader was an attempt to undermine the democratic nation's project, but the will of the people inspired by his ideology will continue the struggle until his physical freedom is granted."

The demonstrations concluded with chants affirming the continued demand for the leader's freedom, in a scene that reflects popular determination to break the isolation and continue the resistance.
