Tell Brak people: meeting Leader Abdullah Ocalan is dream we struggle to achieve

The residents of Tell Brak, Jazira Canton, re-affirmed their continued efforts to meet with Leader Abdullah Ocalan, emphasizing that they have to keep trying and make their struggle deeper as part of the international campaign titled "I Want to Meet Leader Abdullah Ocalan" so that they could achieve his freedom in body and set this goal as a priority.

On October 10, 2023, a global campaign under the slogan "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, the Political Solution to the Kurdish Issue" was started. Since its start, large-scale events have been carried out in most countries of the world in support of demands to put an end to the isolation of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and to promote an overall political solution to the Kurdish issue.

Starting from the early days of March 2024, in parallel with great symbolic dates such as International Women's Day (March 8), Newroz (March 21), and Birthday of Leader Abdullah Ocalan (April 4), the campaign entered the second phase, along with a stunning increase in popular and political support.

Following the historic appeal of the leader on February 27 this year, entitled "Peace and Democratic Society," the third phase of the campaign was launched with the motto: "I want to meet Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

In this, citizens of the city of Tell Brak, in Jazira canton, said that they wanted to meet the leader. Citizen Farouk Khalif said, "As an Arab people, and as per the idea and philosophy of international leader Abdullah Ocalan, we became committed to meeting him. We promise to ramp up efforts and enhance the struggle until he is freed."

Consequently, Yassin al-Majid, a member of the Administration Committee of Schools in Tell Brak, made a call from North and East Syria and said: "From North and East Syria, I hope to meet Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who devoted years of his life and has been exposed to 27 years of solitary confinement for our freedom and the freedom of the peoples. Therefore, we assure our determination on our demand, and that is to meet Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

Consequently, Simav Mahmud, city council member of Tell Brak, declared she would very much want to see the leader, because: "Meeting the leader is something that we want to do with all our strength and will not give up on our demand, because the freedom of the leader means the freedom of all of us, because we cannot live without the leader."

The people stressed continuing their work and conducting activities to this end, with the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan as the core of their fight and their own freedom.
