Teachers of NE Syria send message to International School of Education

The General Union of Teachers in NE Syria sent a written message to the Secretary-General of the International School of Education, David Edward, regarding the Turkish occupation state’s targeting of schools in the regions of NE Syria.

The message included detailed information about the number and locations of schools that were targeted by the Turkish occupation army and affiliates.

The statement stated, " Since the 25th of the month, schools and city institutions in the Democratic Autonomous Administration have been closed until further notice. This closure negatively affects the completion of their education by children in NE Syria.

 It added, "We, as a member of your esteemed union, International Educational Association denounce in the strongest terms the practices of the Turkish state against the local infrastructure, which amount to war crimes. We express our deep sadness and disappointment at the international silence regarding  what happened in the past days in NE Syria that is a humanitarian catastrophe must not be tolerated.

The statement called for “a helping hand and to stand with us in a firm stance against this brutal bombing, which does not differentiate between a civilian and a military, nor between a child and an old woman and to explain to them our great suffering hopefully, we can do something to stop the Turkish state from its reckless behavior towards the students and teachers of NE Syria.”
