Syrian Transitional Govt. closes road linking Raqqa to Deir ez-Zor

The Syrian Transitional Government closed on Thursday the road linking Raqqa province and Deir ez-Zor city, between the towns of Albu Hamad and al-Ghanem al-Ali in the southeastern countryside of Raqqa.

The Syrian Transitional Government Forces closed the road connecting Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, as the road between Tabqa canton and Salamiya town in Hama countryside remains closed, as does the road linking Deir Hafer and Aleppo city.

The road witnessed heavy traffic congestion, with residents and vehicles stranded on both sides; however, no official statement or explanation from the Transitional Government Forces has been issued regarding the closures.

The town of al-Ghanem al-Ali has been under attack for a week by forces affiliated with the Transitional Government.

On Wednesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) shot down two drones launched from the Transitional Government positions near the village of Ghanem al-Ali in the eastern countryside of Raqqa. This area has been under attack for a week by the Transitional Government Forces and their allies.

According to the SDF, the two drones belonged to ISIS mercenaries and were launched from the Transitional Government positions in Syria.
