Five Sweida residents freed after being kidnapped in Daraa

ANHA correspondent in Sweida reported the release of five Sweida residents, including three women, who had been kidnapped by a gang in the town of Al-Musayfrah in eastern Daraa. This comes weeks after the Syrian transitional government denied the existence of any kidnapped or detained persons from Sweida during the past period.

The released citizens were transferred to a safe location to receive necessary medical and psychological care, ahead of their return to their families in the coming hours.

ANHA correspondent clarified that the released individuals are: Talal Dheeb, Reem Dheeb (his daughter), Mahmouda Quraisha (his wife). Photos of the family had previously circulated in the media and on social media.

Other released citizens include Ilham Abu Zein Al-Din and Rafi Habib (who has special needs).

The release of the five kidnapped citizens coincides with increasing public demands in Sweida to reveal their fate and that of other kidnapped and missing persons, and to take stricter measures to limit the violations of gangs loyal to the transitional government in Daraa and to stop the kidnapping of Sweida citizens.
