Iranian authorities punished three female political prisoners after they protested their forced transfer from Evin Prison to Qarchak Prison, following the Israeli airstrike that targeted Evin on June 24 amid the escalating military tensions between Iran and Israel.

According to the Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners website, the three prisoners, Masoumeh Asgari, Masoumeh Nassaji, and Sayeh Seydal, were placed in solitary confinement for six days as punishment for opposing the transfer and protesting their detention conditions.

Following the airstrike amid rising military tensions between Iran and Israel, Iranian authorities transferred around 70 inmates from Evin to Qarchak Prison. Prisoners have reported being held in cramped and overcrowded cells lacking proper ventilation and healthcare, which has led to a deterioration in both physical and mental health. They also face poor nutrition and a lack of basic services.

Qarchak Prison is notorious for its harsh and degrading conditions, particularly for female political detainees, raising growing concern among human rights organizations over the fate of those transferred there.
