Sweida lawyers launch “Knights Initiative” to support law students

A group of lawyers in Sweida started the voluntary and free initiative to support law students and hold workshops on various legal topics, given that university students have been unable to attend their classes in other Syrian provinces due to the current conditions in Sweida and the repeated assaults targeting them.

The initiative includes both online activities through social media platforms and on-site sessions for students in Sweida.

Lawyer Ghassan Hussein Garz Al-Din explained in a statement to ANHA agency that the initiative is a free volunteer effort to provide legal lectures to law students from Sweida, in coordination with the Bar Association, to make up for the educational loss. He noted that there are qualified and capable individuals to undertake the teaching task—lawyers with extensive experience and holders of master’s and doctoral degrees, in addition to judges and anyone willing to contribute to this mission.

He added, “I am ready to be one of the volunteers contributing to this noble mission. For fourth-year students, I suggest assigning them to lawyers’ offices to gain practical experience, and I also propose expanding this initiative to include all professional unions and their students.”
