Six Cities in Northern Kurdistan support Rojava

Protests and public demonstrations continue across Northern Kurdistan denouncing the attacks targeting Rojava. In this context, a mass event was held in the city of Van, during which a statement was issued condemning the attacks on the region. The statement also denounced the killing of the young Kurdish man Baran Abdi, originally from Kobani, who was shot in an armed attack targeting protests in the city of Tarsus yesterday.

Van

A large crowd of protesters gathered in the city center before marching toward Art Street. During the demonstration, Abdullah Zidan, Deputy Mayor of Greater Van, delivered a speech affirming that "Rojava is a red line," adding: "Anyone who thinks they can kill Kurds or subjugate Rojava is mistaken. Kurds have not attacked anyone, nor seized anyone’s land, and we stand firmly in support of Rojava’s rights."

Akre

A demonstration was also organized in the Bazid area of Akre to protest the attacks on Rojava, accompanied by a press statement. Before the demonstration, a state of emergency was declared in the area, with soldiers and police stationed in front of the Equality and Peoples’ Democracy Party building. The protest included participation from MPs Yilmaz Hun, Mahmoud Dindar, and Heval Bozdag. The demonstration proceeded despite tight security measures.

Gulmarg (Hakkari)

In the Hakkari region of Gulmarg, the Work and Democracy Platform issued a press statement in the city center condemning the attacks on Rojava.

Kafr

A press conference was held in the Kafr area of Hakkari under the slogan, "Rojava is a Red Line for Us," led by religious scholars. Representatives from numerous civil society organizations and political groups also participated in the event.

Mardin

Similarly, the Democratic Institutions Platform organized a demonstration in the Dêrîk area of Mardin in protest of the attacks targeting Rojava. The demonstration saw a large turnout, including MPs from the Equality and Peoples’ Democracy Party, co-chairs, and members and officials from various political parties and civil society organizations.

Manisa

In Manisa, a statement was issued condemning the attacks on Rojava and addressing the democratic public, saying: "Supporting the people of Rojava is not a choice; it is a responsibility toward humanity."

Şırnak

The Democratic Institutions Platform also issued a press statement regarding the attacks on Rojava in Şırnak. The statement, delivered in front of the courthouse, was attended by representatives from the Butan Association for Supporting Prisoners’ Families, political parties, democratic mass organizations, and others.
