A number of Syrian workers were killed on Monday in an Israeli airstrike that targeted an orchard in the town of Abbasiyeh, in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

The agency reported that the airstrike hit an orchard opposite al-Abbasiyeh forest, resulting in the deaths of several workers; however, no further details were available regarding the exact number of casualties or the identities of the victims.

This incident comes amid an escalation of Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon. Last Wednesday, five members of a Syrian family were killed in an airstrike on Beirut, while another airstrike on March 28th resulted in killing seven Syrians and wounding eight others in the south of the country.
