The Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) issued a statement on Monday congratulating the politician Nizar Amidi on his election as President of Iraq. The statement included:

"Mr. Nizar Amidi has been elected as President of Iraq. Therefore, we congratulate him and wish him success, hoping that this will be a positive development for Iraq, the Kurdish people, and the region.

Kurdistan and our region in the Middle East are experiencing a critical period, and Mr. Nizar Amidi has assumed this important position at a highly sensitive time. His election to this role undoubtedly carries great responsibility, as Iraq faces numerous important problems and issues. Furthermore, the wars and struggles for influence and interests in the Middle East exacerbate these challenges within the country.

The issues and aspirations of the Kurdish people for a solution are paramount. Through a long struggle and great sacrifices, they have achieved significant social and political progress, becoming a dynamic force in consolidating democracy, and a politically organized people in the Middle East. Reaching a democratic political solution to the Kurdish issue will also contribute to addressing other outstanding issues in the region. Democracy itself is the key to resolving the issues of Iraq and the Middle East, and it has been proven beyond any doubt that these issues cannot be resolved except through the consolidation of democracy, and that approaches outside this framework will not lead to real results.

Wars and policies of denial, and the harsh tragedies they leave behind, along with nationalist, sectarian, and authoritarian tendencies, only complicate and exacerbate crises. Therefore, consolidating democracy is the best way to resolve these issues, and it is the fundamental aspiration of the peoples of the region.

We are confident that Mr. Nizar Amidi will exert diligent efforts to strengthen and consolidate democracy, in a way that fulfills the aspirations of our people and the peoples of the region. With these hopes and aspirations, we congratulate him once again on his election to this position.
