Security tension, heavy gunfire in village in Jableh countryside

The village of Baabda in the Jableh countryside witnessed security tensions following heavy gunfire during raids conducted by the Syrian Transitional Government Forces in search of a wanted man, amid smoke filling the air, and a state of panic among the residents.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the raids coincided with the arrival of security reinforcements from the cities of Jableh and Banias, after reports stated that the wanted man had resisted the security forces and taken refuge in the nearby woods, where the pursuit continues.

The Observatory added that the raids were carried out as students were leaving school, causing widespread fear and panic among the villagers, particularly the children.

There are no confirmed reports of casualties as the security situation remains tense.

Available information suggests that these developments are part of a recent escalation in security campaigns carried out by the Syrian Transitional Government's Internal Security Forces in villages across the Jableh countryside.
