Security chaos escalates in Syria, with 6 victims in 24 hours

Syrian regions witnessed a series of separate security and criminal incidents during the past 24 hours, which claimed the lives of 6 people in several cities, amid the continued state of lawlessness.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the deaths of six people in separate incidents across several Syrian regions on Sunday. These incidents included murders, family disputes, armed attacks, and shootings.

In Deir ez-Zor, a young man died from gunshot wounds after being lured to a cemetery road by unknown assailants. Meanwhile, a member of the Syrian Interim Government's Ministry of Defense was killed in an attack by ISIS militants in the town of al-Zubari, east of Deir ez-Zor.

In the town of al-Shuhail, a young man was killed by gunfire following a family dispute over land ownership.

In the Latakia countryside, a woman was killed by her husband in the village of Hawsh al-Salamiyah, near Jableh, due to a family dispute.

In the Tartus countryside, a young man from the village of al-Khuraybah, near Baniyas, died after being poisoned by a toxic substance placed in his coffee, according to local sources.

In the city of Swaida, a young man died after being accidentally shot during an incident on farmland between the towns of Ar-Rahha and Masad, south of the city.

These incidents come at a time when several areas are witnessing a rise in crime rates and security chaos, amid repeated calls for controlling weapons and strengthening security and stability.
