SDF refutes claims about  Maher al-Assad's escape to Iraq through NE Syria

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement today, refuting the allegations of the "Al Jazeera Net" website about Maher al-Assad's escape to Iraq through NE Syria, which stated:

 " Al Jazeera Net published false news stating that Maher al-Assad fled to Iraq through NE Syria, and claimed that this was facilitated by our forces. This news is completely false and comes in the context of incitement against our forces and people in NE Syria.

Worth to note that the al-Qaim border crossing between Syria and Iraq was operating effectively, more than three thousand soldiers and officers from the Baathist regime's army left the Deir ez-Zor region and the Syrian desert to Iraq, where the Iraqi army received them, treated them well, and transported them to safe areas. There was no need for smuggling routes as claimed by Al Jazeera Net.

 The website also claimed that the Fourth Division of the former Baath regime was a partner of our forces in drug trafficking. These allegations reflect a deep hatred from the liberated areas towards our regions and our people. The Syrian Democratic Forces, were the only force that fought the regime's cells and drug dealers who deal with it, and carried out hundreds of campaigns to pursue these dealers and confiscate and destroy their materials.

 We demand all media outlets to be accurate and objective in their news, and not to fabricate news that is far from logic and media ethics.
