Horrible atrocities, crimes committed by mercenaries of "National Army"

The sixty-year-old Ibrahim Khalil from the occupied city of Afrin tasted the bitterness of migration twice. He experienced the first exodus during his forced migration from his city in 2018, and endured the hardships and torment of the second exodus in the al-Shahba region occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries on December 2, 2024.

Indescribable suffering, Ibrahim Khalil suffered its woes when he and tens of thousands of displaced people from Afrin were forced to leave al-Shahba, he packed his belongings in a car, to search for another safer place away from the clutches of mercenaries supported by the Turkish occupation, and he is well aware of the pain of departure and the bitterness of displacement.

Ibrahim Khalil, 60 years old, who had been living in the village of Ahraz for 6 years, says: “On March 18, we were exiled from Afrin for the first time, and our destination was al-Shahba. We carried the pain with us on the first displacement journey, but the pain and bitterness of displacement from al-Shahba was doubled.”

He pointed out that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation (the National Army) besieged them in al-Shahba, captured some of the residents and committed atrocities, thefts and slaughters, "the women suffered a lot."

Khalil narrated the displacement journey and said: "Some people were displaced and did not take anything with them except their clothes, and others remained stuck and their situation was catastrophic, we did not know what happened to them."

 Ibrahim Khalil left at 17:00 with his family from the village of Tal Ahraz towards Tal Qarah to join the convoy that headed to the Tabqa cnaton, and he noted: "Chaos and anxiety occurred among the convoy after the mercenaries of the National Army arrived, threatening to kill the residents."

Khalil referred to an atrocity committed by the mercenaries of the National Army, by beheading a woman from Tal Rifaat and separating her from her body. According to Khalil: "One of the women who were slaughtered in cold blood was named Rania, and the other was the wife of a truck driver, I do not know her name, but they slaughtered her."

 Khalil confirmed that the mercenaries supported by the Turkish occupation state committed horrific crimes, by slaughtering 3 brothers from the Arab component in Tal Qarah, and said: "These mercenaries came from Azaz, and slaughtered the brothers under the pretext that they were working with the administration."

Khalil explained that the crimes and atrocities of the mercenaries escalated when the convoy arrived in Tal Qarah, and said: "There, the torture and assault of civilians began, they were cursing women, and uttering vulgar and obscene words."

Suffering on top of suffering

Ibrahim Khalil, along with tens of thousands of Afrin displaced people, tasted the bitterness of displacement after a displacement journey that lasted for 12 continuous hours, and said: "The residents faced great difficulties on the road, some left their cars in the middle of the road after it broke down, women and children slept on the sidewalks, we suffered a lot until we reached the city of Tabqa."

 After Ibrahim Khalil was forced to leave his village, the mercenaries rushed to loot his house. He said: "Before setting fire to my house, they stole all its contents under the pretext that I deal with the Autonomous Administration.

My house is not the only one. The mercenaries looted the property of all the residents there."

 Khalil explained that the conditions of those trapped in the Shahba canton are tragic. There are those who were unable to leave after the mercenaries besieged the canton. It was difficult for those trapped to leave. He said: "Now we are receiving information from there that the torture operations are continuing, and the mercenaries are searching for young men. I have information about the kidnapping of more than 15 young men."

Uncle Ibrahim Khalil headed to the city of Qamishlo, as a destination for him and his family after he left the village of Ahraz in the Shahba canton by force.
