SDF: Dangerous escalation in Ain Issa, al-Shaddadi, Raqqa despite ceasefire

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) indicated that a dangerous escalation in Ain Issa, al-Shaddadi and Raqqa is being witnessed, despite the announced ceasefire agreement.

The Syrian Democratic Forces' (SDF) Media Center issued a statement to the public opinion regarding the recent developments in the region, stating,

"Despite the declared ceasefire agreement and the statements issued in this regard, factions loyal to the Damascus government continue their attacks on our forces in Ain Issa, al-Shaddadi, and Raqqa.

Currently, fierce clashes are taking place between our forces and these factions around al-Aqtan Prison in Raqqa, which houses ISIS detainees, marking a very dangerous escalation.

We emphasize to the public opinion that the level of threat is escalating significantly as these factions attempt to reach and control the prison, which could have serious security repercussions that threaten stability and pave the way for a return to chaos and terrorism.

Therefore, we present these facts to the public opinion and hold the aggressors fully responsible for any catastrophic consequences that may result from the continuation of these attacks."
