SDC discusses developments, their repercussions on Syrian file

The General Council of the Syrian Democratic Council held its third regular meeting this year to discuss political developments at the local, regional and international levels and their repercussions on the Syrian file, paths to a political solution, and ways to get out of the current impasse in the Syrian issue.

The meeting, which was held at the Council Center in the city of Hasaka was managed by the Joint Presidency of the Council in the presence of deputies of the Joint Presidency and members of the General Council inside and outside the country via the “ZOOM” application.

During the meeting, the political situation, political and military developments around the world, and its repercussions on the Syrian crisis were reviewed in depth, as well as the political, security and humanitarian reality in Syria, including the regions of NE  Syria. In addition to the occupied areas by Turkey and its mercenaries.

The great human suffering that the Syrian people are experiencing as a result of the continuing crisis was also addressed.

It also discussed ways to coordinate with international forces and parties influential in the Syrian file, in order to reach a comprehensive political solution to the crisis that guarantees Syria’s unity, sovereignty and independence, preserves the rights of all components in the country, and establishes a safe, stable and democratic future in Syria.

The meeting discussed the internal organizational situation of the Council and ways to enhance joint action between the various political components, with the aim of moving forward in achieving the desired goals of the Syrian people, in accordance with the principles of democracy, equality, human rights and pluralism.

The meeting stopped at the outcome paper of the various workshops organized by the Council, to examine and discuss the main issues on the Syrian scene, and the conclusions included summaries of the ideas and recommendations of the workshops.

The meeting stressed the importance of these activities in promoting constructive dialogue and exchanging experiences between the various Syrian components to achieve their aspirations towards democracy, freedom and justice.
