Revealing names of representatives NE, Syria to finalize agreement between SDF, Damascus Authority

The second meeting between the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and representatives of the Damascus authority was held today in the city of Hasakah, as part of the efforts to implement the terms of the agreement reached on March 10th.

The meeting was chaired by the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and a member of the General Command, Rohalt Afrin, in the presence of Hussein al-Salama, head of the committee tasked by the Damascus Authority to finalize the agreement, and committee member, Mohamed Qanatri.

The meeting discussed the progress in implementing the terms of the agreement, with a focus on the necessity of continuing de-escalation and halting hostilities in Syria, especially regarding the neutralization of the Tishrin Dam from any military attacks.

The formation of a specialized committee to discuss the return of forcibly displaced individuals from various Syrian regions was also discussed.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the names of the committee members who will represent the regions of North and East Syria in the dialogue with the Damascus government were revealed: Fawza Youssef, Abdul Hamid al-Mahbash, Ahmad Youssef, Sanharib Brousoum, and Sozdar Haji. Maryam Ibrahim and Yasser Suleiman will serve as the official spokespersons for the committee.

This meeting comes after the first meeting held on March 19, where the parties seek to enhance dialogue and achieve stability in the region by implementing the terms of the agreement.
