The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated in a report published today that 673 people have been killed and injured since the beginning of this year in various Syrian areas due to mines and war remnants.

It explained, "In 100 days, the number of civilians killed since the beginning of 2025 due to the explosion of unexploded ordnance reached 335 people, including 71 children and 17 women, in addition to 338 others injured, including 140 children and 3 women."

War remnants are widespread in all areas of Syria that have witnessed military operations in previous years, and they pose a concern for citizens wishing to return to their homes and resume their work.

The observatory accuses local authorities and relevant organizations of failing to remove unexploded ordnance and mines of various types and forms.
