Residents of Jil Agha: we will remain steadfast against any attacks

Threats against the areas of al-Jazira Canton continue, particularly against villages south of the city of Jil Agha, amid repeated violations of the declared agreements.

During a tour conducted by ANHA agency through the streets of Jil Agha in al-Jazira Canton, following attacks that targeted surrounding villages, we met with a number of residents as they went about their daily lives in the city, where they expressed their views regarding the recent developments.

Citizen Feghan Hussein stated that “the ongoing attacks and threats aim to sow discord and undermine the unity of the region’s coexisting components, and to create Arab–Kurdish strife through attacks and inciting media campaigns.”

He emphasized that “residents are fully aware of these attempts and are standing united to confront them,” adding that “the population continues day and night to stand alongside the military and security forces to protect villages and areas, and that these attacks will not weaken their determination to defend their land and achievements.”

For her part, citizen Fatima Rasoul stressed that “protecting the land is a collective responsibility that falls upon everyone who lives on it,” considering that the attacks target the very existence of the peoples of the region and disregard international and humanitarian laws.

She praised the resistance carried out by the military forces in confronting the attacks and affirmed the residents’ continued support for them.

Meanwhile, citizen Mahmoud Ahmed pointed out that the unity and solidarity of residents during this difficult phase are the only way to confront the schemes of sedition and the ongoing attacks.

He affirmed the residents’ rejection of any attempts aimed at destabilizing security or undermining their will, and their determination to continue standing firm until security and stability are achieved.
