Over 500 aid trucks reach Jazira to support displaced families

The distribution of humanitarian aid to displaced people in the areas of Jazira Canton continues through the institutions of the Autonomous Administration, along with many local associations and organizations, charitable institutions arriving from Southern Kurdistan and Europe, as well as individual initiatives by residents of Rojava living abroad. These efforts are carried out in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent and the Afrin and Shahba Displaced Persons Council.

According to humanitarian workers, more than 500 aid trucks have reached the cities and towns of the canton, carrying food and medical supplies, children’s needs, blankets, mattresses, and heating materials, in addition to the daily provision of hot meals for displaced people.

Several organizations and charitable institutions participated in sending aid, including the Barzani Charity Foundation, Kirkuk Charity Organization, Hana Organization, the Kurdish Doctors Union in Germany, Kurdistan Position Bloc, Channel 8, Rudaw Channel, VIM Organization, the VIM Charity Association, along with other organizations.

Mobile medical clinics were also organized in the cities of Derik and Qamishlo, staffed with medical teams and equipment to meet urgent health needs. Supervisors of humanitarian work within the General Mobilization Committee confirmed that other institutions and organizations are still in contact to deliver more aid in the coming period.

On heating materials, more than 11,000 families have benefited so far, with approximately 300 displacement shelters distributed across schools, mosques, and other locations. The Autonomous Administration continues to distribute fuel through two channels: one for the displaced and another for the canton’s residents.

In terms of medical services, more than 5,000 people have benefited from medical examinations and treatment provided by medical staff through mobile clinics operated by the Autonomous Administration and partner organizations.

Today, the Kurdish Red Crescent also began distributing aid sent by Channel 8, consisting of 34 trucks.

According to a source responsible for distribution operations, humanitarian efforts will continue in the coming period, with ongoing coordination to deliver more aid to displaced people in Jazira Canton, aiming to alleviate their suffering and meet their basic needs.
