Today, leader Abdullah Ocalan’s brother, Muhammad Ocalan, through his lawyer Mazlum Dinc, along with Omar Khairi Kunar’s brother, Ali Kunar, Hamili Yildirim’s brother, Polat Yildirim, and Veysi Aktash’s sister, Meliha Aktash, submitted a new request to the Office of the Republican Prosecutor in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with them.

Lawyers from the Al-Asr Human Rights Office submit two requests each week to the Bursa Prosecutor’s Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate for a meeting. The families also submit two requests each week, totaling 16 requests per month, without receiving any response.

It is noted that the last meeting with the leader by his lawyers, Rezan Sarica and Newroz Uysal, took place on August 7, 2019, and his last communication with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother Muhammad Ocalan that lasted five minutes before being cut off.

On October 23, 2024, after four years of no contact, leader Abdullah Ocalan met directly with his nephew, Omar Ocalan. During the meeting, the leader conveyed in a message: "The isolation is still ongoing, and if conditions allow, I have the theoretical and practical power to shift this process from a basis of conflict and violence to one of legal and political grounds."

Meanwhile, the system of torture and extermination continues in Imrali, and leader Abdullah Ocalan is denied even his basic rights as a detainee.
