Qamishlo Fire Brigade mobilizes its teams in 22 locations to protect agricultural crops

The Qamishlo Fire Department unveiled a special emergency plan for the harvest season on Thursday, which involves mobilizing all fire brigades and deploying them across 22 locations ranging from Amuda city in the west to the Ain Diwar area in the east, ensuring rapid response in case of fires or any incidents that could threaten agricultural crops.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Hussein Mohamed; the administrator at the Qamishlo Fire Brigade, in front of the brigade's headquarters in the city. He confirmed that all teams are fully prepared to respond promptly to emergencies and provide immediate assistance should any incident occur that could damage agricultural crops in the region.

Hussein Mohamed urged residents to cooperate with firefighting teams and avoid any actions that could trigger fires or inflict damage to agricultural crops, emphasizing the importance of maintaining awareness and responsibility during this critical phase of the farming season.

He noted the presence of volunteer local teams in several villages that work in coordination with the fire brigade to facilitate rapid response to incidents and minimize potential losses.

Firefighting teams' spread points

According to the announced plan, the firefighting teams have been deployed at the following locations:

The Qamishlo Fire Brigade serves as the central hub, with the following locations connected to it: Hemo, Shork, Kerbawi, Helwa, Al-Khazna, and Lilan.

Tirbê Spîyê: Shabo oil station, Tell Meroof, Mezkaft junction, and Mashouq.

Amuda: Amuda, Sanjeq Saadoun, and Jaghar Bazaar.

Jel Agha: Jel Agha and Kishkeh.

Girkê Legê: Girkê Legê fire extinguishing point.

Derik: Derik, Ain Diwar, al-Zuhayriya, Tel Koçer, and Tel Hamis.

The unit clarified that the deployment plan includes assigning dedicated contact numbers for direct communication with citizens, as well as establishing both fixed and mobile response points to ensure rapid access to accident sites and immediate intervention when needed.

This alert comes as the grain harvest season begins in the Jazira regions, accompanied by increased risks of agricultural fires. This situation necessitates strengthening preventive measures and rapid response protocols to protect crop yields and minimize potential losses.
