PYD holds its annual meeting in Beirut

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Lebanon convened its annual meeting in Beirut under the slogan “The physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan guarantees the achievements of the revolution,” with the participation of council members and organizational committees from various parts of the Lebanese capital.

The meeting began with a minute of silence, followed by a welcoming speech by Rivan Mohammed, an administrative member of the party council, who outlined the agenda and emphasized the importance of fostering political dialogue among all sides amid the sensitive phase the region is going through, coinciding with the ceasefire declared by the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.

Afterward, directives from Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the PYD were read, focusing on developing party work, strengthening organization, and safeguarding the revolution’s gains. Several proposals were also discussed to expand the party’s political and social activities within Beirut’s districts.

In a recorded message, PYD Co-Chair Gharib Hesso welcomed the attendees, praised the efforts of the party council in Beirut, and underlined the importance of the PYD’s role during this critical period that requires a peaceful political solution guaranteeing the rights of the Kurdish people wherever they live.

Ilham Ahmed, Co-Chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration, also delivered a recorded speech in which she stressed the importance of the current political phase and the ongoing dialogues aimed at ensuring the return of displaced persons and preserving the democratic achievements in North and East Syria.

Party member Khaled Khaled presented the annual report of the PYD in Lebanon, reviewing the activities and achievements accomplished over the past year, as well as assessing the organizational, political, and social performance of the Kurdish community in Lebanon.

The meeting concluded with a session of evaluation and self-criticism, during which members reaffirmed their commitment to continue working with a strong spirit of struggle. The action plan for the coming year was then adopted, including the following points:

Holding public gatherings to demand the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Activating training courses and forming communes in various areas.

Preparing for national and cultural occasions.

Strengthening grassroots work with a revolutionary and communal spirit.

Activating the Kurdish language committee and organizing training sessions.

Continuing to hold political and media seminars and meetings.

Preparing for national occasions and forming special committees for them (such as the International Conspiracy Day against the Leader, International Women’s Day, Newroz, Leader Apo’s Birthday, and others)
