Local sources reported that hundreds of sanitation workers in Raqqa took to the streets this morning, launching protests and announcing a work strike over the failure to receive their wages, despite continuing to work for nearly 3 months.

Main streets in the city witnessed gatherings of protesters, while circulated images showed hundreds of male and female workers participating in the protest stands, demanding the payment of their financial dues and improvements to their living conditions.

Previously, employees of the Water Company in Raqqa, who had been working during the Autonomous Administration period, announced on May 5 that they had entered an open-ended strike in protest against the failure to confirm their contracts and the delay in paying their financial entitlements, which have been suspended for nearly 5 months.
