Iranian security forces arrested a Kurdish teacher in the city of Urmia in East Kurdistan without presenting a warrant, before transferring her to an unknown location, according to the Center for Kurdish and Iranian Detainees.

The center stated that the detainee is Forouzan Eslami, an English teacher and head of the Now Javan Language Academy in Urmia. The arrest was carried out without explanation or disclosure of her whereabouts.

The report added that Iranian authorities have not yet provided any information regarding Eslami's health or legal status, raising growing concerns about her fate.

Forouzan Eslami is known for her work in teaching English and is a prominent Kurdish figure in Urmia.

Human rights reports indicate that Kurdish women in East Kurdistan and Iran face various forms of harassment and violations, whether due to their national identity or their social and cultural activism.
