Protests in Ghazila, Hasakah countryside over living conditions, prices

Residents of the town of Ghazila in the countryside of Hasakah Governorate blocked the main road and set tires on fire in protest against the worsening living conditions, lack of job opportunities, and rising fuel and basic goods prices. They called for urgent solutions to improve economic conditions and provide suitable employment opportunities.

On Monday, a number of residents of Ghazila village in Hasakah countryside blocked one of the roads leading to the village and burned tires, protesting the deteriorating living conditions, rising fuel and basic commodity prices, and the lack of job opportunities.

The protesters demanded that the relevant authorities find solutions to the economic crisis affecting the region, stressing that the continuous rise in prices and the declining purchasing power are increasing people’s suffering.

This move comes amid ongoing economic difficulties facing residents, alongside calls for government measures to improve living conditions.

Earlier, on Sunday, the village of Um Hujaira on the al-Hol–Hasakah road also witnessed popular protests that included road blockages, demanding better living conditions.
