Damage to about 1,000 dunams due to field fires in Hasaka

Statistics released by the Hasaka Fire Department show that 22 fires broke out in agricultural fields within its jurisdiction between May 24 and June 8, 2026. These fires resulted in the burning of varying areas of land planted with wheat, barley, and spelt.

According to the statistics, eight fires occurred in wheat fields, burning approximately 78 dunams (7 hectares). Six barley fires affected 914 dunams (914 hectares), and eight spelt fires consumed approximately 185 dunams (185 hectares) of farmland.

According to the Hasaka Fire Department, the areas of Tel Tamer and Kazwan mountain were the most affected by agricultural fires during the aforementioned period, accounting for the largest percentage of all fires recorded within the department's jurisdiction.

Similarly, statistics issued by the Hasaka Fire Department show that emergency and firefighting teams responded to 66 fires of various types within the same period. These interventions were not limited to agricultural fires, but also included extinguishing 34 fires in dry grass, 3 house and tent fires, 5 waste fires, and one fire involving a combine harvester.

Most of the fires were caused by sparks from the combine harvesters during operation, in addition to other fires resulting from electrical short circuits.
