Hundreds of residents of Girkê Legê and Rimelan took to the streets today in a demonstration condemning the international conspiracy that targeted leader Abdullah Ocalan on the 28th anniversary of the plot.

The demonstration began at Martyr Xebat Square and went through the city’s main streets, with hundreds of residents participating and expressing their rejection of the international conspiracy targeting leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Upon reaching the city’s central market, the demonstration turned into a protest, which began with a minute of silence in tribute to the souls of the martyrs.

During it, Fatima Lakto delivered a speech on behalf of the Martyrs’ Families Council, affirming that the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan represents the freedom of peoples who believe in his ideas. She stressed the condemnation of the international conspiracy targeting him.

Fatima Lakto paid tribute to the martyrs of Kurdistan who sacrificed their lives for their people and their cause, noting that leader Abdullah Ocalan’s philosophy has contributed to preserving civil peace and strengthening coexistence among the region’s communities.

She added that leader Abdullah Ocalan’s ideas and philosophy constitute a key to peace in the region, as they uphold principles based on coexistence among all communities.

The demonstration concluded with slogans reaffirming the participants’ commitment to leader Abdullah Ocalan’s ideas and chants of “No life without the leader.”

It is worth noting that the international conspiracy targeting leader Abdullah Ocalan began on 9 October 1998, forcing him to leave Syria for Europe. He was later abducted in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on 15 February 1999, with the involvement of regional and international intelligence agencies.
