A number of political activists and intellectuals organized a protest stand today in al-Karamah Square in the city of As-Suwayda, denouncing the decisions of the current Damascus authorities, and what resulted from what is known as the "Victory Conference" that was held on January 28.

Participants in the vigil protested the decisions of the Damascus authorities, and carried banners with slogans condemning the participation of the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation state in the future of the country, where some of them read: "The militias supported by Turkey do not represent the Syrians and did not fight for the homeland", "Abu Amsha, the thief of chicken, commander of the 25th Division!!!", "All your crimes are written in the notebook", and "The Syrian army is not a place for war criminals".

These slogans reflect the participants' rejection of what were called "promotion operations" among the ranks of the figures involved with the mercenaries, in reference to their fears of the impact of these practices on the future of the country, especially with the information about the promotion of the mercenary Abu Amsha to the rank of brigadier general and his appointment as head of the 25th Division in Hama.

The mercenary Mohammed al-Jassem "Abu Amsha" is one of the most prominent mercenary leaders involved in committing war crimes in Syria, especially in Afrin, and he is considered one of the arms of the Turkish intelligence services through recruiting thousands of mercenaries and sending them to Libya and Azerbaijan.

Also among those who participated in the conference, along with dozens of mercenaries, was the leader of "Ahrar al-Sharqiya", Hatem Abu Shakra, who is among those who were imposed sanctions by the US Treasury Department through its statement that said, "Ahrar al-Sharqiya has a record of human rights violations, including the unlawful killing of Hevrin Khalaf, the Kurdish politician and Secretary-General of the Future Syria Party, in addition to her bodyguards in October 2019."
