People of Raqqa warn Syrians against sectarian strife

People of Raqqa Canton told ANHA agency that no matter how diverse the components are, "we are Syrians united under the banner of a free Syria," in response to the misleading posts circulating on social media that attempt to drag the area's residents into civil war through incitement and hate speech.

 Syrians in general, especially in NE Syria, believe that certain parties, particularly the Turkish occupying state and its mercenaries, are trying to stir up discord among the region's components, especially between the Arab and Kurdish groups, through their cells on social media.

 Maria Aziz, a resident of Tal al-Saman village in northern Raqqa, stated, "We are Syrians, a cohesive and coexisting people with our diverse components and groups." She rejected attempts to destabilize the region, saying, "We categorically reject the strife caused by some groups seeking to undermine the security of the area."

 In turn, Adham Salloum, a resident of Hazima city in Raqqa, said, "We have seen an increase in provocative media activity trying to incite discord among the components of the Syrian people. We strongly reject these attempts; we have lived together for thousands of years, and there is no distinction between Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, or Assyrians." He emphasized, "We reject the strife that seeks to spill more blood."

 Salloum also sent a message to all the peoples of Syria, stating, "In the end, we are Syrians, and the principle of Syrian identity should be governed by dialogue to achieve a new, pluralistic Syria where all Syrians can live freely and justly."

 The citizen Aboud Al-Jassem said, "We are against all attempts to incite strife; we have lived in Syria for thousands of years with various groups, and there is no difference between Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, or Assyrians."

 He appealed to the Syrian people, saying, "Let’s stop the strife on social media. We must be aware of what is happening in Syria to prevent bloodshed. Enough violence, war, and fighting. We also call on decision-makers to take appropriate actions for the unity of the peoples and the integrity of the territories."
