Alhurra Network quoted informed sources today that Hezbollah's response to the draft ceasefire proposal that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received from US Ambassador Lisa Johnson "included approval of most of the terms, with comments and amendments to the formation of the monitoring committee."

The sources indicated to Alhurra that Hezbollah and Lebanon "demanded that this committee be limited to American-French participation, similar to what happened in the ceasefire understanding that was concluded in 1996," which ended a round of fighting between the Israeli army and the Lebanese Hezbollah.

Under that understanding, the two sides agreed to end cross-border attacks on civilian targets and refrain from using civilian villages to launch attacks.
