New PYD co-chair: We will increase our alliances

The new co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Parwen Yusuf, spoke to ANHA agency about the outcomes and messages of the party's 10th conference.

Parwen Yusuf began her speech by congratulating all the components, the families of the martyrs, leader Abdullah Ocalan and members of the party on the convening of the 10th conference of the party, noting that the party has completed 21 years and passed through crucial stages and important and difficult stations, as it made many sacrifices and made many martyrs, while thousands of its cadres are still struggling within the July 19 revolution.

"Preserving and consolidating achievements"

Parwen Yusuf stated that the responsibility of the co-chair is very great, and said: "The people and members of the party have trusted us, and we pledge to work according to the hope and trust they have given us, and to continue the leading role played by the party from the beginning, and to preserve and consolidate achievements, we will work with all our strength and capabilities, and this work will not be limited to the co-chair, as the members of the council and elected administrators will make a great effort with their people and will prioritize the duty of the Democratic Union Party."

"We have many alliances, and we will work to make more"

Parwen Yusuf highlighted the stage that the Middle East and the world are going through and the wars and conflicts they are witnessing, and stated that in order to deal with this stage and adopt a strong goal, one of the decisions they took at their conference was the decision to expand and strengthen relations at the level of the Middle East and the world, especially with Arab countries, and she continued: "We have many relations and alliances with parties inside and outside Syria, as well as socialist parties in the world, and we want to maintain these relations, and we have put in place many programs to form alliances with the people of the region and the world."

"Building a Democratic Syria"

Parwen Yusuf pointed out that the PYD will play its role in organizing the people at all levels, starting with the commune and building a democratic Syria, in order to resolve the Syrian crisis, determine the fate of the components of the NE Syria region and preserve the system of Autonomous-Administration. 

"Raising the Pace of the Struggle for the Leader"

Parwen Yusuf explained that due to the Turkish occupation state's tightening of the regime of torture and extermination in Imrali and the continued silence about it, they felt the need to raise the pace of the struggle for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, and concluded her speech, saying: "We have a program of events, visits and forums to draw the attention of public opinion more, and we are working to spread the leader's thought in society at the level of cooperative work, preserving nature, transforming to a collective cooperative economy and promoting self-defense."
