Bafil Talabani asserts that KDP's focus in Kurdistan is on its own interests

Bafil Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), sent a message to the people of South Kurdistan as the election campaigns for the Southern Kurdistan Parliament began.

Talabani pointed out that there are 2 parties (the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Union) that have an impact on the lives of citizens in S. Kurdistan, "one of them has been tried for several years, the prime minister of that party and the main ministries are in the hands of that party, ask yourself, look at your children, are you satisfied with this party? Was he able to defend your rights properly?, was he able to protect the land of Kurdistan properly? This party is selling the land that we have made great sacrifices to protect, for the benefit of the enemies of the Kurds and Kurdistan."

Addressing the people of S. Kurdistan, Bafil Jalal Talabani explained: "You should feel safe, not as it is today, when drones of many countries fly over our heads, all these citizens and young people are killed in this country, and no one is saying anything. All the focus of the ruling party in Kurdistan is on its own interests and pockets, let's be frank, citizens need salaries, Baghdad wants to send salaries, but they prevent it because they want money to go into their banks and they distribute it, and this is a great insult to citizens."

Talabani noted the repression practiced by the Kurdistan Democratic Party against the people of S. Kurdistan, and said: "Do you know how dear Kurdistan was to the international community? Our courts were different, our government was different, citizens expressed their opinion freely, who can now have a different opinion? We have writers and bloggers who are arrested for a small article or comment on social media, turned into terrorists and prosecuted."

The Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq announced on September 24, the launch of propaganda campaigns for the sixth electoral cycle of the Southern Kurdistan Parliament, scheduled from Wednesday until October 15.

And indicated that 136 electoral lists and 1,190 candidates will participate in the elections, and pointed to the formation of a committee to monitor electoral campaigns and follow up on violations that may accompany them.
