The interim government in Syria approved new government appointments, including the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministries of media and Agriculture, in addition to new governors for Homs, Quneitra, Deir ez-Zor and Latakia.

On Saturday, the head of the Syrian interim government, Ahmed al-Sharaa, issued several decrees appointing new officials to governmental and administrative positions, including the General Secretariat of the Presidency, the Ministries of media and Agriculture, and new governors for several provinces.

Abdul Rahman Badr al-Din al-Aama was appointed Secretary-General of the Presidency, having previously served as Governor of Homs.

Khaled Fawaz Zaarour was appointed Minister of Media, having previously served as head of the Faculty of Media at Damascus University.

Basel Hafez al-Suwaidan was appointed Minister of Agriculture. He is an agricultural engineer who has previously held administrative and investment positions in the agricultural sector.

The appointments also included Marhaf Khaled al-Naasan as Governor of Homs, Ghassan Elias al-Sayed Ahmed as Governor of Quneitra, Ziad Fawaz al-Ayesh as Governor of Deir ez-Zor, and Ahmed Ali Mustafa as Governor of Latakia.
