NE Syria sends new food basket for coastal areas

 The Mesopotamia Relief and Development Association, in coordination with the Social Affairs and Labor Authority of the Autonomous Democratic Administration, is preparing the third convoy as part of the North and East Syria humanitarian aid campaign towards the Syrian coastal areas, departing from the city of Al-Tabqah.

The association has allocated 6,000 varied food baskets in this batch, aiming to support needy families and alleviate their suffering, as part of contributions from the people of North and East Syria.

The convoy is scheduled to depart tomorrow from Raqqa to the coastal regions of Syria for distribution to those in need.

This batch is the third of its kind to be sent from the North and East Syria region towards the Syrian coast since March of this year.

In mid-March, through popular initiatives from North and East Syria, with the participation of the Kurdish Red Crescent and the Autonomous Democratic Administration, a convoy carrying tons of humanitarian aid was sent to the coastal region as the first batch.

The convoy arrived from the cities of Qamishlo, Hasaka, and Raqqa to Latakia and was distributed to the people of the Syrian coast. The aid included 6,000 food baskets, 2,500 cleaning supplies baskets, and 350 tons of flour.

On May 19 of this year, the Mesopotamia Relief and Development Association, in coordination with the Social Affairs and Labor Authority of the Autonomous Democratic Administration, sent the second convoy of humanitarian aid to affected and needy families in the Syrian coastal region.

The association distributed it on May 25, including 1,500 food baskets for the rural areas of Latakia province.

Between March 7 and 10, the Syrian coast witnessed painful events and massacres that, according to documented statistics by the Syrian Observatory, resulted in 1,676 casualties.
