NE Syria sends 13,500 aid baskets to Syrian coast

The people of the North and East Syria, in coordination with the Democratic Autonomous Administration, are sending a second batch of aid, including 13,500 food and medical baskets, to the coastal regions to be distributed among those affected.

In mid-March, as part of a popular initiative from the region, and with the participation of the Kurdish Red Crescent and the Democratic Autonomous Administration, a convoy carrying tons of humanitarian aid was sent to the coastal area as the first batch.

After traveling more than 1,000 kilometers from the cities of Qamishlo, Hasaka, and Raqqa toward Latakia, the first convoy arrived and was distributed to residents of the Syrian coast. The aid included 6,000 food baskets, 2,500 cleaning supply baskets, and 350 tons of flour.

Today, the people of North and East Syria are preparing to send a second humanitarian aid convoy to the affected and needy families in the coastal region, under the supervision of the Democratic Autonomous Administration and the Kurdish Red Crescent.

Supervising authorities confirmed that the convoy will depart next Saturday toward the Syrian coast from the Tabqa crossing, which separates areas controlled by the Democratic Autonomous Administration and those under Damascus authority, after the aid trucks gather at the crossing on Friday.

This convoy includes 13,500 aid baskets, consisting of 11,000 food baskets and 2,500 baskets containing medical items and cleaning supplies.

The Syrian coast witnessed tragic events and massacres between March 7 and 10, which, according to documented statistics by the Syrian Observatory, claimed the lives of 1,676 people. The Observatory also documented the names of 17 individuals, including 4 women, who were executed in Banias during those events and whose deaths were confirmed just yesterday.
