Murad Karayilan: Turkey aims to eliminate Autonomous Administration

In a special interview with Sterk TV, Murad Karayilan, member of the Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), revealed Turkey's plans to dismantle the Autonomous Administration in NE Syria. He stated, "Turkey is not only trying to occupy these areas but also aims to carry out a genocide against the Kurdish people and alter the demographic composition, threatening the future of the Kurds in the region."

Murad Karayilan, who is also the commander of the Central Command of the People's Defense Forces, emphasized that the Turkish occupation state seeks to destroy Rojava and the Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria.

He explained that "the Turkish state is not just attempting to occupy Rojava, but it aims to completely eliminate it." He pointed out that what happened in Afrin and Serê Kaniyê is part of this plan, with Turkey seeking to replicate this scenario in other areas like Kobani and Jazera.

Karayilan noted that the Turkish occupation state wants to occupy 30 kilometers of land and displace the Kurdish population from these areas to change the demographic composition and resettle others in their place.

Demographic change as a Turkish strategy

Karayilan explained that the Turkish state is working to empty the occupied areas of Kurds, which helps in implementing its plan to change the demographic composition. He emphasized that "the real goal is to dismantle the social infrastructure of the Autonomous Administration; the Turkish state fears the Autonomous Administration in Rojava and seeks to eliminate it entirely."

Genocide, not just occupation

Karayilan stressed that Turkey's goal is not merely to occupy Rojava but to commit genocide against the Kurdish people. He said, "Turkey is not only targeting the Kurds but also the Assyrian and Arab populations in the region. Turkey seeks to control the region and reach a settlement with the Syrian regime by eliminating the Autonomous Administration."

Karayilan sharply criticized the Kurdish National Council and Kurdish politicians cooperating with Turkey. He said, "How can you cooperate with a state that seeks to destroy your country? You should return to your people and support the resistance against this enemy."

Call for Kurdish national unity

Karayilan issued an urgent call for achieving Kurdish national unity. He emphasized that "all of Kurdistan faces a real threat, and the time has come to develop a common strategy to confront the dangers surrounding the Kurdish people. If we do not unite now, we will lose the chance to gain freedom."

Message to the Kurdish people

Murad Karayilan, member of the Executive Committee of the PKK and commander of the Central Command of the People's Defense Forces, called on the Kurdish people to unite and stand together in this historical period. He noted, "We can only overcome the enemy if we unite." He also congratulated the Kurdish people on the 41st anniversary of the August 15 Uprising, wishing everyone success in their struggle for freedom.
