Municipalities of Dersim,  Bolur in N. Kurdistan usurped by Turkish government

The Turkish authorities usurped two new municipalities in Northern Kurdistan, announcing the appointment trustees again instead of the elected ones in a new coup against democracy.

 A statement was issued by the Turkish Ministry of Interior stated" Tunceli Governor Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu was appointed in place of Dersim Co-Mayors Cevdet Konak and Birsen Orhan, and district governor Hüseyin Şamil Sözen was appointed in place of Bolur Mayor Mustafa Sarıgül.

 The Turkish security forces used force to disperse protesters who were gathering in front of the Dersim municipality building in protest against the trial of the elected mayor.

 Before occupying these two municipalities, the Turkish authorities occupied the municipalities of Mardin, Ilı and Khalfeteh in Northern Kurdistan by appointment trustees. They also arrested the Co-Mayor of the Khalfeteh municipality. On November 20, the Turkish authorities imposed 6 years and 3 months in prison on Konak and Sarıgül without taking their final statements.
