Mothers of detainees in Çil Agha demand release of their sons

Mothers of detainees and missing members of the SDF and Internal Security Forces in Çil Agha stressed the need to release their sons held by the Interim Government and return them to their families.

Several mothers expressed concern about the fate of their sons. Tamam Mohammad Hussein, from the town of Abara and the mother of an Internal Security Forces member, said contact with her son was lost after he withdrew with his comrades from Deir ez-Zor. She noted that no confirmed information is available about his fate, except that he is believed to be in  Interim government prisons.

She called for the release of her son and all detainees, stressing that this is a legitimate right for their families. She also urged the swift implementation of the January 29 agreement, particularly regarding the detainees’ file.

For her part, Atiya Othman, the mother of an SDF fighter from the village of Kafri Dana, said the last contact with her son was about two months ago while he was in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, noting that his fate remains unknown since then.

She called for the immediate release of all detainees, emphasizing that families only seek the return of their sons. She also urged the relevant authorities, including the Autonomous Administration and the SDF, to take serious action to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
