The field military commander in the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, Nouri al-Khalil, recalls the increase in cell movement and the growing efforts of ISIS mercenaries and groups linked to the security services of the Damascus government forces, to the escalation of the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the North and East Syria.

He said in a statement to ANHA's agency about the security and military field conditions in Deir ez-Zor canton, which is witnessing the largest movement of cells, "ISIS and the regime's militias are exploiting the Turkish attacks to attack the region."

He added: "ISIS mercenaries, as well as the regime's militias, always seek to exploit the security and military challenges facing Deir ez-Zor, to regroup and target our regions. An example of this is what Deir ez-Zor recently faced. The region witnessed a wave of terrorist acts, including attacks by militias affiliated with the regime and the so-called tribal forces.

Mentioning the attacks by ISIS mercenaries that targeted their military force points in Deir ez-Zor canton, as well as others carried out by groups linked to the security services of the Damascus government forces, he noted that ISIS cells are seeking to regroup their ranks, and what the cells are doing with the escalation of attacks by the Turkish occupation state shows ISIS’s ability to return.

He said: "The attacks launched by Turkey on the North and East Syria contribute to the rise of ISIS again, and hinder the joint efforts between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the International Coalition to eliminate the terrorist organization."

The field military commander in the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, Nouri al-Khalil, confirmed that their military forces continued to pursue ISIS mercenary cells and limit their recovery, through specific operations, pointing to an operation carried out by their forces against a cell consisting of 5, including Iraqi mercenaries.
