Meeting of Education Body in AANES with Education Ministry of Damascus Authority kicks off

A delegation from the Education Body of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria arrived in Damascus yesterday to follow up on the implementation of the terms of the agreement signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian authorities in Damascus on March 10.

The delegation is currently holding a meeting, the first of its kind, with the Ministry of Education in the Damascus authorities to discuss mechanisms for implementing the educational provisions of the agreement and explore ways to coordinate curricula and unify educational standards.

The meeting comes within the framework of implementing the terms of the agreement concluded between the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and the head of the Damascus authorities, Ahmed al-Sharaa, on March 10. The agreement included eight provisions:

1 Ensuring the rights of all Syrians to representation and participation in the political process and all state institutions based on competence, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

2 Recognizing the Kurdish component as an integral part of the Syrian state and guaranteeing its citizenship rights and all constitutional entitlements.

3 Ceasefire implementation across all Syrian territories.

4 Integration of all civil and military institutions of NE Syria into the administration of the Syrian state, including border crossings, airports, and oil and gas fields.

5 Guaranteeing the return of all displaced Syrians to their towns and villages while ensuring their protection by the Syrian state.

6 Supporting the Syrian state's efforts in combating remnants of terrorism and all threats to its security and territorial integrity.

7 Rejecting calls for division and all forms of hate speech or incitement aimed at sowing discord among the components of Syrian society.

8 Establishing executive committees to work toward implementing the agreement before the end of the current year.

Yesterday, the names of representatives of the North and East Syria region participating in the dialogue with the Damascus authorities to implement the agreement were revealed during the second meeting between the SDF leadership and representatives of the Damascus authorities.
