Meeting between women's delegation, Amnesty International on violations committed in Syria held

The women's delegation from North and East Syria met with the female members of Amnesty International in Berlin on Saturday. The meeting addressed the violations and crimes witnessed in the country from the Ba'ath regime's rule to the present.

The discussion focused on the violations committed against various Syrian components, including Alawites and Druze, as well as crimes against women, including murder, sexual assault, and kidnapping.

Both sides also emphasized the importance of systematically documenting these violations and working to establish a mechanism for joint cooperation and coordination to raise the voices of victims and ensure that perpetrators do not go unpunished.

These meetings are part of a European diplomatic tour launched by the women's delegation of North and East Syria on September 6. During the tour, the delegation met with numerous human rights and women's organizations, as well as holding meetings with representatives and members of the French parliament. They also participated in lectures and cultural and artistic festivals.

The delegation includes Amina Omar, the administrator of the Women's Council in North and East Syria; Mona al-Youssef, the spokesperson for the Syrian Women's Council; Shahrazad al-Jassem, the spokesperson for the Zenobia Women's Gathering; Jian Hussein, the member of the Kongra Star Coordination; and Georgette Barsoum, the head of the Syriac Women's Union.
