Mass rally organized in Derik in support of YPJ

As part of the campaign launched last April by the Joint Events Platform of Women's Movements and Organizations to support the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), the Kongra Star organized a mass rally on Monday in Derik city, with the participation of hundreds of residents and YPJ fighters.

The participants gathered at al-Hurriya (The Freedom) Square, waving YPJ flags and a banner with "We are all YPJ, and the YPJ represents us," before the march proceeded towards the central market, chanting slogans in support of the YPJ and its role in protecting society.

Upon reaching the Kongra Star Center, the participants held a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs. Then, Wafa Ali; the administrator at the Kongra Star, delivered a speech emphasizing the need to enshrine women's rights in the Syrian constitution, recognize the role of YPJ, and integrate it into the structure of the Syrian Ministry of Defense. She noted that the Rojava Revolution is known as the "Women's Revolution" due to the significant role women have played throughout the years of the revolution.

She added that YPJ protected the dignity of society and its land, contributed to the defeat of ISIS mercenaries, and liberated thousands of women, opening opportunities for them to demonstrate their strength and will.

Wafa Ali affirmed that the campaign supporting YPJ will continue until their rights and the rights of all women are achieved within the Syrian constitution, emphasizing the importance of official recognition of women's role and struggle.

The march concluded with chants glorifying YPJ and affirming continued support for them.
