Hundreds of residents from the towns and cities of Dêrik, Girke Legê, Çil Agha, and Til Kocher took to the streets of Dêrik to demand the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan during a mass demonstration held today.

The city of Dêrik witnessed a large public rally today, with hundreds of people from Dêrik, Girke Legê, Çil Agha, and Til Kocher joining in to demand the physical release of Abdullah Ocalan, affirming that their struggle will continue until this goal is achieved.

The rally began at Freedom Square in Dêrik. Participants carried photos of leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners reading “Freedom for the Leader” as they marched through the city's main streets, chanting slogans calling for his immediate release.

The rally stopped in front of the Council of Martyrs’ Families, where several speeches were delivered following a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs’ souls.

Juwan Hassan, the Co-Chair of the People's Municipality in Dêrik, stated: “The physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is essential. Without it, no resolution can be found for the crises engulfing the Middle East,”

pointing out that “The Democratic Nation project proposed by the leader is the best path to achieving peace and coexistence among peoples.”

Narishan Barakat, the official from Kongra Star, emphasized that the popular movement and activities will continue until leader Abdullah Ocalan's physical freedom is achieved, stressing that the issue is no longer merely a political demand, “It has become a humanitarian and popular cause that concerns the future of the entire region.”
